About The Instrument Room
The Instrument Room began as more than just a name—it was a place. Growing up, Jordan referred to the music room at his home as “ The Instrument Room ”, a space that he filled with instruments of all kinds. It was where he spent time learning, practicing, and sharing music with friends. More than that, it became a place to grow—not just as a musician, but as a person.
That same idea carries into the business today. The Instrument Room is built on the belief that music matters, and that the people who create it deserve instruments they can rely on.
Jordan began working on instruments during an apprenticeship in 2022, but quickly realized that many repair shops overlooked one important thing: quality—especially for students. That experience shaped the foundation of The Instrument Room. Every instrument, regardless of its price or level, is treated with the same care and attention, because every musician deserves the opportunity to play their best.
The transition from freelance work to a full business was inspired by his experience performing with the Washington Commanders Marching Band. That step marked a shift in purpose—not just repairing instruments, but building something that could serve more people and make a lasting impact.
At its core, The Instrument Room is about people. It operates on a simple principle: If you take care of others, they will take care of you. That mindset shows up in every repair, every interaction, and every decision. Sentimental value is taken seriously here—because an instrument is often more than just an object. It represents memories, effort, and identity. If it matters to the player, it matters here.
The goal is simple: to help musicians play at their best and, in doing so, contribute to something bigger. Musicians only exist to make the world a better place, so to help a musician is to make the world more beautiful.
Looking ahead, The Instrument Room aims to grow into more than just a repair shop. The vision is to create a hub for musicians in the Roanoke area—a place for connection, growth, and opportunity through repair services, instrument sales, lessons, and community support such as scholarships and awards for students.
Because in the end, The Instrument Room isn’t just a business—it’s a place where music, people, and purpose come together.
